One In Six One out of six couples experience
difficulty or delay in conceiving. It must be realised that
infertility could be due to various reasons. After initial consultation,
investigation and counselling, a programme of management will be created
with an aim to achieve fertility for each couple.
The Unit will have the ability to treat couples appropriately with
discretion, empathy and in privacy. After in depth consultation, each couple
will be offered a treatment plan tailored to their personal circumstances,
in order to ensure the greatest chance of success.
A Range of Fertility Services
The Centre would be self contained.
Our patients do not have to experience the inconvenience associated with
traveling from place to place for different elements of treatment and

to Assisted Reproduction Centre will have already been fully investigated.
However, some will have had no preliminary investigations carried out. We
are able to offer a full investigative service including hormone profiles,
semen analysis, ultrasound and Doppler. The other procedures such as
diagnostic laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, hysterosalpingography and
sonosalpingography will also be carried out.
Intra-Uterine Insemination ( IUI )
Intraterine Insemination is beneficial
when the woman has unexplained infertility, problems with ovulation and poor
/ hostile cervical mucus. The ovaries are stimulated to produce a small
number of follicles and the cycle is carefully monitored to pinpoint the
time of ovulation. At the time of ovulation a sample of the partner's
prepared sperms are placed high Into the uterine cavity. By doing this, the
cervix is bypassed, where large numbers of the sperms may be destroyed,
because of hostile cervical mucus.
In-Vitro Fertilisation & Embryo
Transfer ( IVF-ET )
|
This involves stimulation of ovaries to produce a number of mature eggs
which are retrieved by ultrasound guided needle aspiration and then mixed
with her partner's sperms in the laboratory to allow fertilisation to occur
Once the eggs fertilise and cleave, s maximum of three embryos are placed
into the woman's uterus through the cervix. |

Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection
( ICSI )
|
 |
ICSI is the injection of a single sperm into each viable egg, the objective
being to increase the chance of fertilisation and development of embryos.
Used in conjunction with an IVF procedure, ICSI is designed to help couples
where the
male partner has a recognized clinical problem, including Congenital
Bilateral Absence of the Vas Deferens (CBAVD) and unsuccessful
reversals of vasectomy.
