CMS and Pharmacy :
|
Provide the
equipments and drugs on the basis of emergency & regular demand. They are
also responsible to adequately stock the anticipated requirements. The
costly equipments, stores and foreign manufactured items are obtained duly
approved by the MD & CE and further negotiated by the purchasing
committee.
The other services providing support to the OT are, the Bio Medical
Engineering Department, AC plant, Electrical & Civil Engineering Department,
the house keeping and various other services of the hospital. The hospital
Pantry provides food for the operating team in OT itself on a
subsidized basis to ensure food supply to the operating team who work for
prolonged hrs. |

Cleaning and Sterilization :
|
The OTs are thoroughly scrubbed, washed and sterilized with bacillocid
solution daily and as per the need. They are subjected to a schedule 24hrs
formaldehyde fumigation on weekly basis. The cleaning and fumigation
equipments include, flippers, Vacuum cleaners, floor washers, fumigators
etc. |

The Post Op- Recovery Ward
:

This ward is located in the clean zone of Main OT Complex adjacent to the
operation theatres. It has the patient reception, preoperative and
postoperative sections and is a 30 bedded ward having Fowlersbeds, centrally
supplied oxygen, suction and compressed air provision. It has adequate
equipments and medicines for the emergency and post operative care .The
experienced and dedicated nursing staff looks after the patients till they
are shifted to their respective wards. |

Expansion of OT for future needs : Another OT complex with
identical design and facilities is already constructed in the second floor
(Sharavati). The various Super specialties growing fast in the modern era
will be established in this complex as per the need.
Other Special Features:

The proximity of cardiac OT to Cath Lab and ICTU has made the Care of
Cardiac Patients very efficient.

Each OT has been provided with a spacious window to have a panoramic
view of the western Ghats of Sahyadri
for which Belgaum is known. This provides a pleasant sight to the team
during their prolonged hrs devoted to surgery. |

The staff lounge located within the clean zone provides adequate rest
and TV |
|
4. |
The CCTV room provides the
audiovisual information about the surgery being carried in each OT.
Provision has been made for cable conducted display of ongoing surgery also
in this area. |

The general waiting area of the patients is spacious well lighted and
ventilated. It is well furnished and is provided with adequate reading
material. Provision for cable conducted transmission of operations
conducted in each OT is also made.

In the basement of the hospital Two Major OTs and one Minor OT is provided to Casualty Department &. Trauma
Care centre and another OT is provided for Labour ward. The features here
remain same as described above for the Main OT
