The Accident & Emergency department compares with the  best in the world and functions round the clock with a physician, surgeon and anesthetist in constant attendance. They are backed by super-specialities consultants on minute call, specially trained and qualified nursing staff and all the essential life-sustaining facilities including piped (centralized) medicinal gases and suction, a 500 mA mobile X-ray machine, Cardiac monitors, defibrillators, set of three ventilators and a separate operation theatre complex solely dedicated to accident and emergency work.

This department is functioning since the beginning of the hospital in 1986. 

It was started in the old building ( Present Dental college ) and shifted to the new ultra modern hospital with separate Accident & Emergency complex. It is mainly run by Casuality Medical Officers, who not only give the emergency treatment to the patient but also looks after the medicolegal aspects.     

This department has been equipped with all modern equipments like, Emergency trolleys with oxygen cylinders, Bed side central oxygen supply, Central section system, Cardiac monitors, defibrillators, ECG, 500 ma Mobile x-ray machine, CT Scan, Complex has two modern operation theatres and a minor operation theatre with central gas distributor facilities.

There is a proposal to start an well equipped Intensive TRAUMA CARE UNIT  ( for treating polytrauma  cases) attached to Accident & Emergency department.
