inaugurated by His Excellency, Shri Shankar Dayal Sharma, the then

Kannada Sahitya Sammelan held at Belgaum in 2003. The event was so
successful that it was not only marked as one of the greatest events in
the history of Karnataka but also stood as a living testimony to the
organising skills of Shri Prabhakar B. Kore and aptly demonstrated his
leadership qualities. |

of State Level Teachers’ Award Ceremony of the Govt. of Karnataka at
Belgaum on 5th September, 2006 – hosted by K.L.E. Society. |
Instrumental in the successful
conduct of Karnataka State Special Legislature Session, a historical
event, held at Belgaum from 25th to 30th September, 2006.
Hosting of the Legislature Session, in Belgaum has changed the course of
history of the state of Karnataka. Passing resolution at the end of the
session, the Karnataka Assembly congratulated Shri Kore for playing a
key role in organising the Session meticulously and in an unstinted way.
This, infact, drew the attention of the world community with Shri Kore
as a point of focus. |

EDUCATIONISTs
As Chairman of K.L.E. Society since 1984, he has contributed
significantly to the Society’s emergence as a premier education
provider. The K.L.E. Society presently has 204 institutions under its
fold with a student community in excess of 70,229 and a workforce of
over 8,226. The Society offers education, practically in every stream of
learning. Under his Chairmanship over 166 institutions have been newly
created. A unique aspect of this growth has been the focus to make an
educational impact in rural areas in fields such as Pharmacy, Nursing,
Education Management Studies , Computer Applications, Engineering etc.
In keeping with his vision of ensuring that the KLE has a global
presence, Shri Prabhakar Kore has been the moving spirit behind the
establishment of International Schools at Delhi & Bangalore.
He has also been responsible for getting University Status for the
Society’s Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum & Institute of
Dental Sciences Belgaum as ‘KLE University’, Belgaum. Further, he has
ushered in an era of collaborations in the field of Health Sciences by
entering into MoUs with Universities of Illinois, Chicago, and
Sunderland (UK). Yet another remarkable achievement of his has been the
establishment of a sophisticated 1000 beds KLE Hospital and M.R.C., with
investment exceeding Rs.110 Crores. Apart from providing very useful
teaching material to the students of Medical Science, KLE 820 beds
Charitable Hospital, Belgaum is serving as a lifeline of the poor and
downtrodden people of the region. Thus, he has made Belgaum the hub of
Education and Health care. For this outstanding and selfless
contribution of a great sacrifice, the K.L.E.Society named this great
monument of national pride after him as KLES Prabhakar Kore Hospital and
M.R.C., Belgaum.
His initiative has led to the establishment of a model Hospital and
Research centre at Ankola, (North Kanara Dist), Intensive Care Units at
Hubli, Gokak, Jamkhandi and also Satellite Dental Clinics at Belgaum,
Bailhongal, Gokak, Nipani in Karnataka, and Aravalli & Gadhinglaj in
Maharastra.
Under his leadership and guidance the K.L.E.Society has grown into an
educational and Health care provider of global standard.

the ‘Outstanding Educationist’ of the year 2004 by ‘Giants

Amitab Bachhan, the icon of the Indian Film Industry.

Shri Balakrishna Shetty Indian Ambassador to Bahrain.

Annual Convocation held on 13th February 2008, in recognition of his
outstanding contribution to the field of education.
