The Department of Radio diagnosis was established in 1985 with
just on X-Ray unit and now has expanded and includes a number of x-ray units, ultrasound unit. Colour Doppler and C. T. Scan. There is also a project to
install
M R I in the near future.
The Department is headed by Dr. A. Q. NAIK (Prof & H.O.D.). He has a
team of 5 consultants, 2 Registrars, number of P.G. students and para
medical
staff working under his guidance. The doctors and para medical staffs are
available round the clock to look and help the patients in emergency.
The Department functions throughout the week, attending to emergencies
at night and in weekends.
Achievements
1. We had the honor to again A C the 18th Annual Karnataka State Conferences
of IRIA pm 19th and 20th May 2001, in Belgaum.
2. Following post graduate students were awarded Gold Medal for securing
highest marks in the state in MD Post graduate examination held by Rajiv
Gandhi University of Health Sciences.

X-Ray Department
We have 3 units in the department out of that 2 have I.I.T.V. attached to it
and is used for special procedures. I unit is used for general radiography.
In
addition we have 6 portable units to cater the non-ambulatory, bed-ridden
patients. We have a 500 MA portable unit in casualty for acute trauma cases.
We do a number of special procedures regularly that include; Barium
series. Intravenous pyelography,micturating cystourethrography. Ascending
urethrography, Hysterosalphingography, myelogram, Fistulogram, sinogram.
T-tube cholangiography, splenoportogram and other procedures on special
request.
Patients have to take prior appointment for routine special procedures,
however no appointment in needed in cases of emergency.
