Department of Occupational therapy is located in G+2 in KLE Dr Prabhakar Kore Hospital and MRC. 

It is a specialized healthcare department that combines a unique blend of clinical and technological skills to assist people. Occupational Therapy is based on the belief that purposeful activity prevents dysfunction of physical or psychological origin. Occupational Therapists are concerned with their patients’ abilities to resumes life roles upon discharge from hospital days. This department is functioning since 2020 with maximum treatment modalities.

Occupational Therapy often called OT is the use of Treatments to develop, recover or maintain the daily living and work skills of people. Occupational Therapy is a client-cantered practice that places a premium on the progress towards the client’s goals. Occupational Therapy interventions focus on remediation of the biological component, adapting the environment, modifying the task, teaching the skill, and educating the client/family in order to increase participation in the performance of daily living activities, particularly those that are meaningful to the client.

The Department of occupational therapy (DOT) has two major components i.e. Academic activities and clinical activities. Academic activities includes conducting long term courses i.e. BOT(Bachelor of Occupational Therapy) Duration 4year & 6month internship and clinical activities include the assessment, planning and providing the occupational therapy services to various types of patients.
