From its inception in 1997, the department has expanded its capabilities to include adult cardiac surgery, paediatric and neonatal heart surgery, aortic repairs, and a wide range of thoracic and vascular surgeries.
In 2018, we began a successful heart transplant programme and have completed 10 heart transplants to date. We are also preparing to launch our lung transplant programme further enhancing our advanced surgical care.
For critically ill patients, we provide mechanical circulatory support such as ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) and Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs).
Our skilled team includes 8 cardiothoracic surgeons, 5 cardiac anaesthesiologists, 6 perfusionists, and a large group of trained OT nurses, ITU nurses, and physiotherapists.
