KLE Dr. Sampatkumar S. A University-Sponsored Centre Built with Vision and Leadership
This prestigious cancer hospital was conceptualised, developed, and established as a University-sponsored healthcare initiative, meticulously planned and executed from foundation to inauguration over a period of three to four years.
The project received strong leadership and guidance from the Chairman & Chancellor, Dr. Prabhakar Kore, whose visionary commitment to medical education and patient care laid the foundation for this landmark institution. The initiative was further strengthened by the consistent academic and administrative support of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Nitin Ghangane, whose leadership contributed significantly to the successful commissioning and national-level inauguration of the hospital.
Leadership During the Foundational Phase
The hospital’s establishment and operational readiness were led during its critical formative phase by Dr. M. V. Jali, who served as the first Medical Director & Chief Executive from 2nd November 2022 to 28th February 2025. During this period, the hospital’s systems, services, staffing frameworks, clinical pathways, and commissioning processes were developed and stabilised to enable the safe and high-quality launch of comprehensive cancer care services.

As part of its evolving administrative model, the hospital is presently operated through a professional hospital management team, focused on quality systems, patient experience, and efficient service delivery, while preserving the institution’s original mission and standards.
