The Department of Endocrinology was formally established in January 2020 with the Out Patient Department functioning since 2014. It is the first Endocrine Department to be established in the whole of North Karnataka.
The Department of Endocrinology provides the clinical services in the KLES' Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital and Medical Research, Belagavi. It has a dedicated faculty who provide state of the art treatment for majority of Endocrine disorders. In a short span of time the department has established its repute in successfully treating many common as well as rare endocrine disorders such as Diabetes, Obesity, Hypothyroidism, Hyperthyroidism, Metabolic Bone Diseases, Pituitary, Adrenal, Pubertal and Growth-related Disorders.
The department runs weekly speciality clinics such as the Thyroid clinic, Obesity clinic and Growth and Pubertal disorder clinic. The department is supported by ancillary units such as a state-of-the-art advanced Hormone Laboratory, DEXA Scan and a Nuclear Medicine facility. Additionally, it has the services of expert nutritionists. In coordination with the department of Surgery, the department runs a Diabetic Foot Clinic.
