Department of psychiatry was started in 1974. PG training was started in 2007. Got the best department award in 2008. We have full fledged child and adolescent psychiatry unit. We have MHCA compliant 40 bedded in patient services. Department has the state-of-the-art ECT facility and other equipment. Department is involved actively in teaching, community service, PPP Program with state government and public awareness activities. Our department caters to the needy population of most of the northern Karnataka, southern part of Maharashtra and Goa.
