The Department of Obstetrics and gynecology at KLES Dr Prabhakar Kore Hospital and MRC was established in the year 1996. Since its inception, the department has provided state of art health care to women of North Karnataka and South Maharashtra and Goa for more than 2 decades and continues to do so.
Our Department with its accomplished multispecialty team provides health care for every stage of a women's life - from adolescence to child bearing to menopause and beyond. The Department functions as 4 units, to offer full range of services pertaining to Advanced Obstetric Ultrasound and prenatal diagnosis and genetic counselling clinic, Gynec-endoscopy Infertility, preventive gynec-oncology and day-care surgeries which provide the most comprehensive health service in our part of the state. The Department in actively involved in reproductive health camps, cancer screening programs in women and family welfare and performing all major and minor obstetric and gynecological surgeries.
Our Labor room is well equipped with services like cardiotocography, emergency obstetric ultrasound, Obstetric Intensive care unit and painless labor. There is round the clock availability of specialists, post graduates and nursing staff in the labor room to provide continual care.
The department is also actively involved in translating research into practice in the field of maternal and child health.
